Exposé Magazine is an online mag with an outlet to some of the best emerging talent of today. AND I WAS FEATURED IN IT. So for the last few months of 2011, I've been being interviewed on my personal sense of style. NY FASHION WEEK IS ALMOST HERE!

Fashion week is rolling in and all of my fashion friends, bloggers, event coordinators, models, stylists, photographers, designers, and magazine creators are feeling the heat! Event after event, show after show, this is one of the most fun, AND HECTIC weeks for us. AND WE LOVE IT! I've been booked to walk in a few shows this year, and in between event hopping, and working during the day, I've even been able to squeeze in a few magazine shoots, and on camera interviews! heres a SNEAK PEEK of one of my interviews to be released for EXPOSE MAGAZINE's FASHION WEEK ISSUE. [VIDEO] BEATBOXIN' BACKSTAGE AT COCOA SARAI'S ALBUM RELEASE PARTY.

So I got the opportunity to host singer Cocoa Sarai's Album release party a few days ago, and while backstage I had some fun with videographer B. Smith aka @WaterWhereUBeen of NO SLEEP PRO, and professional beat boxer Grey Matter, aka @GREYMATTERBBOX .Grey Matter decided it was my time to learn how to beat box in Cocoa Sarai's dressing room. And I think he couldn't have chosen a better time! With a great videographer present (B. Smith), We got busy with the BEATBOXIN'. lol. It was extremely random, and super fun. Le Plaisir - A short Film Starring RYAN

'Le Plaisir' - Translation? The Pleasure, in French. Watch this short video created, directed, and edited by Andrew Fennell. The story and main point of this video is to show, in a trippy kind of way, how a young girl deals with her inner demons. We all have flaws, we all go through stress sometimes. Unfortunately, the girl in the video seems to be taking a 'different' route to coping with her issues;)

I got the chance to be shot, with one other gorgeous model named MEGAN, in one of the coolest areas of North Carolina...Charlotte. Photographer SALOAN ROCHELLE, makeup artist JOY RANDALL, stylist LONDYN PE, AND VIDEOGRAPHER PRESTON NORALES, was able to take me out of my predominantly 'punk like, dark, edgy' element, and transform me to what others describe as "Ryan in princess form". Frankly, IM IN LOVE WITH EVERYTHING ABOUT THE OUTCOME. I've never been shot in a deserted field, and I have never been recognized to model for a shoot that doesnt revolve around my TATTOOS!!!! This is Cheri Dennis, a beautiful blue haired singer, who now goes by the nickname of Cheri Coke. With either name, Cheri Coke, or Cheri Dennis, this woman's voice is still phenomenal.

I got the awesome opportunity to shoot Cheri recently. I was %100 down to take on this project, (1) Because I've always loved her music , and (2) Her new look is TO DIE FOR. Bright blue hair, cheek piercings, and an awesome physic, Cheri was my MUSE for this shoot.

Now you may recognize Cheri from when she had her first couple of singles out a few years back: 'Portrait Of Love'- featuring Young Joc, and 'I Love You'- featuring Jim Jones. Check Out Portrait Of Love below:

YES! this lovely lady has worked with some great people, BUT SHE'S BACK now, and more fierce than ever! She has a more edgy, and sexy look now. She likes to describe her look as 'effortless, edgy, and unique'. AND WE LOVE IT. Her fans feel like this was the right turn for Cheri to make. After parting with Bad Boy Records, Cheri Coke is now able to be her free, funky, fantastic self. Check out her NEWEST VIDEO below. The song is called 'Let's Get Down'. The song and video explains itself. Cheri Coke is showing us her sensual, sexy side and it's AMAZING!

Working on her current campaign called #GO BLUE, Cheri "Coke" Dennis is focusing on letting everyone know, "DO NOT BE AFRAID TO BE YOURSELF" , GO BLUE is an expression that signifies individuality, and freedom of self expression. She has made the leap to free self expression, and believes it's too tiring to try and be like someone else your whole life. AND I'M RIGHT WITH YOU GIRL! Ryan Shoots Songstress, Cocoa Sarai !!

This is a very exciting post for me. Why? Because not only did I get to have an amazing shoot with an amazing singer, but my photography is the COVER for her NEW SINGLE, titled, RAINING IN MY ROOM !

MEET: Cocoa Sarai, Brooklyn born singer and songwriter. Cocoa reached out to me and asked me to shoot her cover for her new single called 'Raining In My Room'. If you haven't heard the song already, you MUST listen. Other than Cocoa being an amazing artist, the reason why I was so excited, and put my all into this shoot is because the SONG was so beautiful. For a woman such as myself, who can relate to the lyrics to the song, I HAD to do this shoot. The first time I saw Cocoa Sarai perform live, I told myself, "I'm going to work with this woman...SOON"

Cocoa Sarai has several huge accomplishments under her belt including touring with the Harlem Gospel Choir, she's written several songs for music artists in the industry, catch her on BET Music Matters, singing with another great artist named Word Spit, and she's currently featured in VIBE VIXEN! Doing so much, and creating new music regularly, I'm happy I got the chance to catch her and shoot her!

THIS IS NYNE-CREATOR AND FOUNDER OF NYNE LYVES ACCESSORY LINE:

I was invited to an amazing private event called the TEA TAKEOVER. This event was brought together, created, and held by a wonderful woman named Zewidi, or as most call her Nyne.
Can you imagine being invited to a luncheon full of today's most influential, brilliant, successful ethnic women? Or drinking hot tea in one of the top floors of one of the most luxurious hotels in NYC with eclectic women who stand for freedom, individuality, hard work, and equality? Well I can. And I DID.....THE TEA TAKEOVER.

I will have some future posts on Nyne because we have some future projects in the works, but overall, Nyne is a professional artist, blogger, jewelry designer, and as she calls her self, a "professional believer in all things beautiful".

Nyne invited over 50 women from all over, to join her event called the Tea Takeover held in the Giraffe Hotel in NYC. This event essentially was for influential women of today who are on the brink of success. The women invited ranged from all different professions such as singers, costume designers, inventors of aphrodisiac beverages, activists, and even photographers and entertainers such as myself. The experience was somewhat unbelievable. We all connected on another level, we explained our career paths and goals, networked, and ultimately formed a group, called '100 Women', where we'll meet up whenever we can to help one another, discuss our current status', and feed off of each others ideas and positivity.

Sneaker Pimps is the worlds largest touring sneaker hip-hop lifestyle exhibition featuring over 1500 pairs of rare, limited edition, vintage, celebrity signed, artists collaborated sneakers and a collection of sneaker inspired artwork and live hip-hop and rock performances by some of the world's foremost recording artists. I was super stoked that I found the time to go to Sneaker Pimps this year, considering how I missed it last year. It was totally worth it! Awesome artists performed such as Kendrick Lamar, Jim Jones, A$AP Rocky, Waka Flaka, Stalley, and MORE! No I didnt buy, trade, or sell sneakers, BUT I did get to enjoy myself with my friends, watch great celebrities perform, and sipped a few brewskies! Here is some footage from SNEAKER PIMPS!

WATCH THE THRONE TOUR IN MADISON SQUARE GARDEN NYC!

I got to go to the WTT (Watch The Throne) Tour in NYC! This is an epic album, put out by two of today's rap moguls. I'm not a big concert person, but who doesn't love Kanye and Jay-z?! It was extremely fun, and I HAD GREAT SEATS! Look how close to the stage we were! My best friend and I enjoyed ourselves, and I'm so happy I got to take pictures and video of the show!

HALLOWEEN IN NYC 2011-WHERE WERE YOU?!

So this year I've decided to cover the Halloween parade with my friend who's also a photographer (Andrew Fennell). Andrew and I had a blast while we walked from union square, all the way to the village, and BACK. The costumes I've witnessed had me entertained and a little freaked out for the entire night. I've witnessed everything from Nicki Minaj to the Mad Hatter. It was AWESOME! It was like a masquerade party in the street. This is why I love my city. (By the way, that's me standing with the really tall creppy grim reaper guy). Unfortunately I didnt get to dress up this year because the costume I had in mind was a bit too elaborate, and I didn't have enough time, BUT next year I will definitely be a huge part of the festivities;)

Rapper Eric Sosa has Video shoot for song CELEBRATE

Yesterday I got to play video vixen for dope up and coming rapper Eric Sosa. You may recognize him from our past shoot labeled "Bonnie and Clyde Re-imagined". Of course the shoot was strictly business, but it felt like one big party. So many amazing talents were on set, and I'm grateful that I was chosen to participate in the video!!! I had so much fun!! UK's 'Unfolded Magazine' featured me and rapper/model Eric Sosa in a two page spread! Yes, this magazine is indeed in London, and I'm super excited that someone over there is actually looking at my face! It's my dream to move to London one day. So this was pretty big news for me.

HERE IS THE ACTUAL SPREAD FROM THE MAGAZINE:

The shoot that was placed in the magazine was titled, "Bonnie and Clyde-Reimagined". The concept was your typical Bonnie and Clyde story, but with a 2011 fashionably fierce TWIST. I was excited because this is the first time I got to model with a male (Eric Sosa) and he surprised everyone when he transformed on set and became, Sosa, "the model". The person who came up with this great concept, and basically put this shoot together from SCRATCH is celebrity stylist Christina Roman. She's a genius to say the least. The images were taken by celebrity photography Andrew Fennell, who amazes me every time I see a new set of his images. Edited or not, the man has talent. The shoot went amazingly well, it was very organized and professional, and everyone came out and put their best foot forward to create this master that we'd like to call- Bonnie and Clyde-Reimaged. ENJOY!

Ryan Models For Vintage Brand-ROMANsCloset

Everyone knows Fashion Week in NYC is always epic. But this fashion week, out of all years I got to experience, has to be, by far the BEST. I got to meet so many new people, made amazing connections, and got participate/model in some awesome shows. This show below is from the ROMANS CLOSET FASHION PRESENTATION. The models included got to stand on elevated platforms in a dope art gallery as if we were living, breathing works of art. Hence the word PRESENTATION. As the crowd gathered around us, we did slight movements, but no crazy posing. WE WERE HUMAN MANNEQUINS. It was AWESOME.

The line I modeled for is called 'Romans Closet'. This is a reconstructed vintage brand with a modern edge. and IM OBSESSED WITH IT. The creator of Romans Closet is a lovely young man named ROMAN, and he is a pure genius for creating this line. CHECK IT OUT!

Some of the images I'm using in this post are from a young model/artist name FOLASADE. I HAD to use some of the images from her site, because being a photographer myself, her images in particular catch my eyes. they are so appealing and have there own unique quality to them. I LOVE HER!

Ryan Models For Devaue Body Jewelry!!!

I got the awesome opportunity to model for exotic jewelry line, Devaue Body Jewelry, created by published designer Leilani Namour. I was so happy when she hand picked me to model these exquisite pieces for her line. Her jewelry essentially speaks for itself. The pieces aren't like anything I've ever seen, and this is probably why she's worked with some of the industries best photographers for her shoots, and she's been published in magazines such as SOURCE magazine. I loved the pieces so much that I wear her connecting nose rings, and ear to ear earrings almost all the time! and no matter where i go, i always get compliments on the lovely pieces. THANKS LEI !

I got to shoot this lovely, tall, beautiful woman named Toyin (that's her real name, isn't that cool?). We did a series of looks and segments for this shoot. First we started off with high fashion garments, (luxury furs, exquisite jewelry, etc). Then we took things a step further, we went with a super artsy, black and white, vintage feel . This segment of the shoot involves implied nudity, we won't post those today. This shoot was inspiring to me. I was forced to use different techniques that I normally wouldn't use with other models with my camera. Her movements, sometimes quick and sharp, or at others were slow and elegant, allowed me to experiment with the camera to catch different dancing motions, as well as her PERFECT form and she stood tall in her point shoes.

This is West. To label him as simply a Visual Artist would be a complete understatement. Meeting him a couple years ago, I was intrigued immediately. We shared the same drive, and hunger for success, but most importantly, we had one thing in common...ART! I'm more on the photographic, entertainment side of things, but West simply shows so much expression on huge canvases, with pieces so precise, original, and full of life, I'm completely breathless every time I view one of his new creations. His work is a symbolic representation of the struggle, repression, police brutality, and gang activity in LA during the 70's and throughout the 90's. He's a POP Artist. while spending my day in Harlem recently, I decided to get my hair done in this beautiful place below. The salons interior had me fascinated. Everything was super old school, nothing was really modern at all. It seemed as if the shop was full of thrift items. Down to the cool cushiony chairs i sat in to get my hair done. But what struck me the most about this shop were the COLORS! When's the last time you've seen burnt orange WALL PAPER with dope little green chairs to accent it, and MAROON Velvet curtains ALL IN THE SAME ROOM. Psshh, I'm inspired.

So I got the opportunity to shoot in Dumbo Brooklyn recently, only to collaborate with more young talent; my favorite. The pieces below are beautiful, made by Anthony Taylor of the Taylor'd Creations line. Check out more of Anthony's work at www.taylord-perfections.com The shoot went amazingly well, and everyone from the stylist, to the makeup artist was pleased with the turnout. We even got to shoot with two amazing BOUTIQUES located in Dumbo. With clothing and chic accessories carried from a large amount of designers, we were lucky enough to shoot inside of these boutiques and even pull some accessories here and there;]

THIS LOOK BELOW WAS SHOT IN THE MIRITIKA BOUDOIR store in Dumbo. For classic, traditional, CHIC pieces, and even ANTIQUE FURNITURE, go to dumbo and check this place out! It's simply amazing. If you're into a more vintage look like I am (heavy), you'd absolutely LOVE this place. The vintage feel, with the ANTIQUE furnishing really completed this look, and made this part of the shoot come together perfectly. Check out their collection at www.miritika.com

THIS MORE COLORFUL, FUNKY, FUTURISTIC LOOK was shot in another boutique called EHVONNAE in Dumbo. Both boutiques had two totally different feels which was PERFECT for the concept we went for this time. A younger, more modern selection is sold in this boutique, and it worked out for the best. The first thing I think about when this shoot comes to mind was how fun it was! Danielle Love, strong, motivated BEAUTIFUL model was a joy to shoot. Specializing specifically in fitness, her overall modeling skills are a solid 10! She was graceful, cooperative, and it wasn't hard to tell that she KNEW what she was doing. The camera loves her, and apparently so does the rest of the world. I know talent when I see it, and this woman is full of it. I'd love to work with her again. WHY a SELF PORTRAIT?

I'm asked repeatedly HOW and WHY I choose to do self portraits from time to time. . . my response?..."WHY NOT?". I for one LOVE to see a PHOTOGRAPHER capture themselves. I feel it's a totally DIFFERENT tone, as opposed to capturing a client. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE to photo retouch my models, and do cool fancy shmancy effects on photoshop to their portraits...but when photographing myself, it's more of a form of SELF EXPRESSION to me. My self portraits (hence my blog banner) show exactly how I'm feeling at the moment, or show what's going through my mind. Whether it's grungy, old and vintage, elegant and flashy, or just pure and angelic, the portraits display it all. A picture worth more than a million words.

P.S. all the real photographers out there KNOW that setting up a Digital SLR camera to take a SELF PORTRAIT is a HASSLE in itself. :) Bear with me. Hope you guys ENJOY!

EvRyan Shoots a WEDDING!!!

I have recently taken into consideration that I might just want to be, exclusively, a wedding photographer. I know, I know, why limit myself to ONE style of photography, when there's SO MUCH I can do, or better yet, so much my camera can do.....so many different things to take pictures of, why just FOCUS on weddings right???......WRONG!!

While shooting this wedding, I remember thinking, repeatedly, "What does typical wedding photography look like?" and I continued shooting. What I realized by the end of the day was, I had shot everything the COMPLETE opposite of what traditional wedding photography looked like and I absolutely LOVED it!!! Don't get me wrong, there is still a lot of traditionalism going on, but I had to step out of the box, and break the rules once........or twice....(who's counting)??

This is Qu, Better known as Quality NYC himself. The name itself says it all!! A young, Harlem based rapper with a hunger for success like no other. The personality of this man alone made me want to interview him, but after hearing his music, and what he was about, I HAD to get him on my blog. Something makes him stand out from the rest, and it's not just his comical wit, or his bright purple hoodie:) ITS THE MUSIC. "Don't Just Dream".....The quote that he repeats, and will stay with me for a very long time. 1)What name do you go by, or what do your fans know you as?

- Quality NYC is the name!

2)How long have you been rapping/making music?

- Wow. Uum, I've been writing since like 11, rapping since 13ish. Really started making MUSIC, at the age of 16ish LOL. And i started taking it seriously when i turned 18. Thats when i made up my mind and said "This is what i love and this is what i wanna do!"

3)Is this the ONLY thing you do, or do you have more up your sleeve? (Producing, song writing, beat making, etc)

- Well, i have a million hobbies Lol. So rap is definitely not the only thing i do. I Produce/Make Beats, I Draw and Paint. Play basketball, cut hair! lol And i want to get into song writing but I'm still perfecting my craft and learning, So yeah! I'm also getting the Poetry side of me back!

4)When is the Mixtape/Album dropping?

- JUNE 18TH! we won't just dream anymore!

5)If you could describe your music, or your style/flow in 2 or 3 words, what would they be?

- AMAZING! INCREDIBLE and UNTOUCHABLE!.... LOL nah I'm playing. Uuum, Soulful, Expressive and Unique!

7)Who's someone you look up to MOST in the industry right now?

- I Look up to Common the MOST i think. Because he has a great ear for beats. He works with a bunch of Artist that i love. He's been around for soooo long and he's still relevant. He spreads Love and Positivity. His lyrical skill gets better each album. And He's just so Soulful!

All I see is RED.

Yes, the image may be washed out overall in BLUE. But while shooting this, the only color that ran through my mind was RED....for BLOOD. I tried my hardest to capture what was ORIGINALLY happening at the time, but sources didn't let me. As you can see this is cigarette butts, ash, matches, glass shards, an EMPTY, BROKEN BACARDI BOTTLE. Yes, it's liquor. The reason I took this picture was because I've witnessed a group of CHILDREN playing in this stuff. With NOT ONE PARENT around, 3 little boys, and a small girl were playing in this disgusting, DANGEROUS garbage in Bed Stuy. I couldn't believe this was really happening. Thinking it was funny, they were throwing around shards of glass. All I saw at that moment was RED, for the BLOOD that could have been shed because of PLAY and GAMES. Where are the PARENTS of these children? WHY aren't they being watched? And WHY weren't they taught better? The world we live in scares me sometimes, and makes me wonder why these kind of things go on. I always carry my camera for times like this. It's truly sad, but what can we do?

Not too long ago, while exploring the borough I live in, and love, I ran across the most beautiful thing I've seen for that whole day. Not saying that these CHILDREN themselves were beautiful, (that would be kind of creepy), but meaning, what they were doing, how they were laughing, smiling, just being FREE. It was amazing. It made me think back to when I was a child, full of imagination and a free spirit. Getting up to go outside and play from sun up till sun down, without a care in the world. Nothing seemed to bother these children, while they laugh, swing, and play, eat popsicles while getting their new clothing all sticky and dirty, I thought it was simply wonderful. Enjoy

Considered one of the most talented graphic artists/designers I have ever met, Mike/DesONE has made a name for himself among the young people and artists of today. Unlike most designers, Des1 can make, and remake old school graphics, paintings, photography, WHATEVER into something, new, hip, and sometimes even funny or witty. MEET: Karyn Merveille

This is Karyn: An aspiring model, singer, actress, and dancer, Karyn has seemed to amaze me by actually reaching every one of these goals she has set for herself. Finding the time to do all of this is ALONE, in itself is a natural talent if you ask me! Featured in various fashion shows and websites, Karyn walks the walk, and poses while modeling clothing done by a ton of designers. This shoot she is featured in here, shows her in 97 degree weather, on a hot August afternoon, giving the camera all she's got. Even though the weather was extremely uncomfortable and scorching hot, Karyn still looks flawless and let it be known that she is well AWARE what hard work is all about. BLACK LOTUS-JAZ TATTOO, GRAND OPENING EVENT!

So, I'm currently a tattoo apprentice now, for an amazing tattoo shop in clinton hills brooklyn. (Yes, I'm learning how to tattoo also, what can I say, its another art form, and i smell potential greatness coming from it). Anyway. The event was OVERLY AMAZING, and guess who was the little apprentice AS WELL as the hands on photographer?? YUP, you've guessed it. :) So while enjoying the amazing music from DJ Sakir(watch out for her), drinking the amazing drinks, listening to a LIVE ACOUSTIC BAND, enjoying the atmosphere of the artsy and intellectual, I have managed to capture some AMAZING FOOTAGE. In this selection of photos, you'll see everything from my awesome boss, JAZ himself, DJ Sakir, all of my fellow coworkers, the incredible acoustic band, and just all around awesome, and talented people. Simple, elegant, organic, non processed, BALD.

Essentially something of a new born.

Fresh and free spirited.

Natural.

These are all my definitions of true beauty. The world we live in today leads our young people to believe that in order to be beautiful, accepted, successful, even WANTED, they have to be something like the images we see today on television. The glamour, the makeup, the intense unnecessary splurges of money on items and things that are not needed. All this is the COMPLETE OPPOSITE of what I try to portray through my work. I don't think it takes pounds of makeup and expensive jewels and backdrops to result in a wonderful shoot. Its the artistic sense, skill, and creativity of the artist, THE PHOTOGRAPHER.

This is my latest piece titled "beauty". I call it this because it's simple, and almost innocent, alone, and yet it stands out of the dark shadows behind it clearly for the eye to see.
